Chilli'ng in robotics
We are team Peppers #19044 from Computer Science High School “Grigore Moisil” Iași. 15 active members, 4 volunteers, 5 peer mentors and 4 mentors and a much larger community of people that inspired us and that we aim to inspire ourselves.
Peppers: a robotics team from Iasi
Our name was based on the wrong pronunciation of CyLiis as chillies. We were initially called CyLiis Peppers, which most people read as Chilly Peppers.
This is our fourth year (as of 2023) participating in FIRST Tech Challenge. Our story began seven years ago though, when our sister team, CyLiis #19043, joined the Romanian First Tech Challenge community. Read more about our history on the about page!

We won Motivate Award 2nd Place for the Franklin Division at the FIRST World Championship 2023
We're qualified to go to Houston, Texas, USA for the FTC Internationals, among 2 other teams from Romania.
FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. The FIRST in FTC stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology". The FTC shows great impacts, suchs as 98% Problem Solving Skills Increase and 100% Teamwork Skills Increase. Finalist Alliance and Inspire II at the Romanian Nationals!
At the Romania Nationals we ended up on the 5th place among the 80 teams in the quallification rankings. Following this we were chosen as the first pick of the first alliance and we won as the finalist alliance. Afterwards we were awarded the most important prize of the competition: the Inspire Awad (2nd place). This prize represents a summary of all of our achievements, varying from the robot all the way to the engineering notebook and the impact we made within our community.

Winning alliance and Innovate II at the Romanian Regionals!
This season (Power Play) we put in all the work to get to the top. After months of work, we went to the regionals where we competed with professionalism and showed others what we were capable of. Our alliance won the championship granting us the "Winning alliance 1st pick" Award. Our passion was clearly showing through our performance and, therefore, we were given the "Innovate II" Award, being the team that thinks imaginatively and has the ingenuity, creativity, and inventiveness to make their designs come to life. On that account, we classified for the nationals, which we saw as an opportunity to further spread our story and deeds.
